H.E. Azzam Shawwa was appointed governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority by a presidential decree of President Mahmoud Abbas for a second term on November 20, 2019. He is the chairman of the National Palestinian Anti Money Laundering Committee and the chairman of the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) and the Banking Institute.
