Gerald Rockenschaub
Gerald Rockenschaub has been the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) office for the occupied Palestinian territory since 2014. A medical doctor from Austria with a degree from the University of Graz, he trained as a general practitioner and later specialized in general surgery. He obtained a post-graduate degree in public health from Boston University. Dr. Rockenschaub has worked in international health and humanitarian programs in Africa, Asia, the Balkans, and the Middle East. In 2004, he joined WHO as Regional Adviser and Program Manager of the emergency program for the WHO European Region.
