Anders Thomsen is the representative of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) to Palestine. With more than 25 years of experience in development assistance, he has been engaged in the promotion of human rights, reproductive health, and poverty reduction. He has been stationed in various countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Among previous posts with the United Nations, Mr. Thomsen has led the development of a new system for the administration of multi-donor and multi-agency trust funds in the UN system, and served as resource mobilization specialist for UNFPA and program specialist in the Asia Pacific Division during the Indian Ocean tsunami crisis. A national of Denmark, he holds a double major in international development studies and business administration.
