The Palestine Red Crescent Society Hospital, established in 1953, is one of the leading providers of maternity care and gynecological services in the Palestinian territory. In addition to its maternity, gynecology, dentistry, and pediatric clinics, as well as the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the hospital runs an emergency care station with ambulance services.
Our vision
Red Crescent Society Hospital in Jerusalem offers high-quality and easily accessible health services in the field of women’s childbirth, surgery, and intensive care for preterm children of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas. During the past decade, the average number of patients admitted monthly has increased from 250 to more than 300 at peak times. With a total capacity of 40 beds and a staff of 275, the hospital has cared for more than 230,000 patients since 1953, mainly assisting pregnant women in their recovery after delivery.
Apart from its traditional function as a health care provider, the hospital also serves as the headquarters of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). It hosts the East Jerusalem Emergency Medical Services (EMS), which maintains a fleet of 15 ambulance vehicles and hosts the maternity clinic in the Old City, in addition to the clinics in Bab al-Sahira and Kufur Aqab.

Our Eye on the Future
Red Crescent Society Future Hospital Project
The Palestine Red Crescent Hospital is planning and fundraising to build a new hospital in Al-Sowaneh Neighborhood near the existing hospital building.
Youth Volunteer Committee
The administrative committee of the society has made it a priority to emphasize the role of youth volunteers. Therefore, during the holy month of Ramadan each year, the volunteers intensify their work. They make high-profile appearances throughout the courtyards of the Holy Aqsa Mosque, guiding the people to the designated areas of prayer and directing them to alternative routes during times of congestion at the bottlenecks of the city gates. They move sick and impaired persons to first aid centers or ambulances. Furthermore, and in tandem with the Jerusalem schools administration, the youth volunteers engage in an annual drive to collect bookbags and distribute them to needy students at Jerusalem-area schools.
The hospital can be reached via phone at 02 584 8000 and the ambulance at 02 584 8010. For general information or to inquire about making a contribution or offering other kinds of support, please contact us at info@rcsh.org, or visit our website at www.rcsh-jerusalem.org.
